Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)
Softbox Systems' LDPE Foam Liners are manufactured from low density polyethylene, the same material that is used to produce almost all plastic carrier bags. It is a 100% recyclable material that is completely CFC free. All disposal centres and waste services have facilities for disposing of or recycling PE materials.
LDPE foam is:
- The most recycled plastic in the world.
- 99% oil based and when incinerated burns cleanly and efficiently, giving off only a little CO2 and water.
- A cushioning material that is flexible so it does not crack or flake and is incredibly strong.
Softbox LDPE foam liners are flat sheets which are easy to recycle and are space efficient in landfill.
Polystyrene Range (EPS)
Expanded polystyrene is lightweight, water-resistant, hygienic and offers easy, quick and safe handling. Its outstanding shock absorbency and compression resistance means that it provides excellent protection, whilst the thermal insulating properties of EPS keep food fresh and prevent condensation. It does not use chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) or other "greenhouse" gases which are believed to damage the ozone layer, and can be cost-effectively recycled.
